The community begins

Oops -- just attempted a change on the portal and I guess I'm not authorized. Will check in with someone soon.

  • Turns out it was just a conflict with someone else editing the page at the same time. -- RayBirks 01:15, 25 November 2010 (CST)

Setup of the community page

Can we group the topics somehow again? Maybe make container categories, like 'Things to do', 'Discuss' or 'Take part in the Community' or something like that. Right now there are 18 points in the table of contents and it's very likely there will be more over time... Pestergaines 08:06, 29 November 2010 (CST)

A community portal that looks like [1] isn't too hard to create: it's just a table and level two headers. I agree a few broad categories would be beneficial. --Forgottenman (talk) 08:09, 29 November 2010 (CST)
The page has been getting a little "list-y". I am certainly open to some creativity. I wonder about balancing ease of absorption for the less-graphically-oriented. Just wondering. -- RayBirks 10:56, 29 November 2010 (CST)

Thanks! I consolidated it pretty dramatically, but I'm adding some of the previous text to the top of the Special pages: for an example, see Special:NewPages. --Forgottenman (talk) 15:30, 3 December 2010 (CST)
