The Mises Blog went live on May 5, 2003 and hosted 16,647 posts and 234,839 comments, becoming one of the highest-ranked economics blogs on the Internet. Due to increased use of Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of the blogosphere for sharing news and views, the need for the Mises Blog was, by March 2012, deemed to have diminished. Peter G. Klein opined that "the formal, “traditional” organizational blog has become a little old fashioned," and the Circle Bastiat became its replacement.[1]
