Man, Economy, and State: A Treatise on Economic Principles is one of the definitive books in the Austrian School of economics, written by American economist Murray Rothbard. First published in 1962 in two volumes, the text is considered the magnum opus of Ludwig von Mises' most influential pupil.
The last part of the book was originally cut out by the publisher for being too controversial — a part that appeared years later as Power and Market.
The latest print of the treatise includes all three volumes, as Rothbard originally intended.
