The Cobden Centre, based in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, is an independent educational charity founded "to promote social progress through honest money, free trade and peace."[2]
The name derives from an endorsement of Richard Cobden's view that: "Peace will come to earth when the people have more to do with each other and governments less."[3][1]
