Long (finance)
From Mises Wiki, the global repository of classical-liberal thought
In finance, "long" or long position means the buying of a security such as a stock, commodity or currency, with the expectation that the asset will rise in value. In the context of options, it means the buying of an options contract.
"Long" is the opposite of "short" (or short position).[1]
