Medical cannabis in Virginia
From Mises Wiki, the global repository of classical-liberal thought
Medical cannabis in Virginia is allowed to be used pursuant to Code of Virginia § 18.2-250.1.[1] Virginia was the first state to legalize cannabis for certain medical purposes in 1979, fully 17 years before California did so. In 1997[2] and in 2014,[3] attempts were made to repeal the provision allowing this medicinal use. Both times, Delegate Robert Marshall argued that a California physician could telephone in a cannabis recommendation for a Virginia patient.[4] Medical cannabis advocates acknowledge that this has in fact happened before.
