I upgraded MediaWiki to v1.20.1 today. I also upgraded the following extensions to the latest version from Git:

  • CategoryTree
  • CharInsert
  • CheckUser
  • Cite
  • Collection

I'm delaying upgrading the others till I hear back on this question. In the meantime, please let me know if you encounter any issues. Thanks. Nathan Larson (talk) 17:03, 28 November 2012 (MSK)

MediaWiki 1.22 released

MediaWiki 1.22 was released today. I think what we will do is upgrade to MediaWiki 1.23alpha and then upgrade all of the extensions to their latest development versions. That way, we'll have the most cutting-edge software, albeit at slightly greater risk of glitches. If we run into problems, in most cases those can be resolved by upgrading again to a version that fixes them. Nathan Larson (talk) 03:09, 7 December 2013 (MSK)

The upgrade is done. The problem is, Mises Wiki has a customized skin that isn't interacting well with the new MediaWiki version, which made a number of changes to how the Vector skin works. E.g., mw:Extension:Vector has been merged into the core. We were going to have to eventually upgrade, so it's inevitable that we would need to deal with these issues at some point. I'll try to find some workarounds for the problems we're having.
Specifically, I want to tone down the "Navigation", "Tools", etc. labels on the sidebar; they're kinda distracting. If anything, we need to go in the opposite direction and use Filament and Foreground to focus on our content and put it in the foreground. Nathan Larson (talk) 04:26, 7 December 2013 (MSK)

Outage

Sorry about that Mises Wiki outage that was corrected a few moments ago. I didn't happen to notice it until just then. You can always text me at 540-808-7473 or shoot me an email at nathanlarson3141@gmail.com if you think I might have overlooked something like that. Hmm, the problem is, if the site is down, you won't be able to read this message. Nathan Larson (talk) 09:45, 7 December 2013 (MSK)

Deleting pages

It looks like we have lost the ability to delete pages - see e.g. this. Pestergaines (talk) 23:12, 12 December 2013 (MSK)
