Sociology is a term first proposed by Auguste Comte, a French positivist, to signify a suggested science that would develop the laws of human development according to the methods employed in the development of man's knowledge of the natural sciences. Most of the writings that are today called sociological deal with various problems which were previously considered as studies in the fields of history, anthropology and ethnology.[1]
