Vladimir Lenin born on 22 April 1870 as Vladimir Il`ich Ulyanov was a Russian marxist who lead the Bolsheviks during the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia. He was born and raised in Simbirsk (now Ulyanovsk) in the Volga Region of Russia. Lenin's older brother Alexsandr was hanged for his role in an attempt to assassinate the Tsar of Russia. Most of Lenin's adult life was spent in exile outside of Russia, returning in 1917 only after the end of the February Revolution. Lenin died at his estate in Gorky in 1924.
