George Reisman

George Gerald Reisman (born 13 January 1937) is a Professor Emeritus of Economics at Pepperdine University and the author of The Government Against the Economy (1979) and Capitalism: A Treatise on Economics (1996). He serves as a faculty member of the Mises Institute, as well as president of The Jefferson School of Philosophy, Economics and Psychology.

He earned his PhD in Economics at New York University under the direction of Ludwig von Mises. In addition to his books, he was written for academic journals such as The Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, The Journal of Libertarian Studies, and The American Journal of Economics and Sociology. His writing has also appeared in publications like The Orange County Register, Barrons, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Daily News, The Buffalo News and The Free Radical.
