Lysander Spooner (January 19, 1808 – May 14, 1887) was an American lawyer, author and libertarian activist.

Among his most famous writings was No Treason, a lengthy essay on the illegitimacy of the Constitution of the United States.
Spooner differed from most of his fellow individualist anarchists of the period, such as Benjamin Tucker, in his absolute recognition of intellect as property.
