MisesWiki:Reviewspace

The Review: namespace is a defunct namespace that was for book reviews, essay reviews, etc. As with mainspace articles, the idea was that reviews would represent the views of Mises Wiki. Therefore, reviews were to be subject to merciless editing to bring them into conformity with the stances of Mises Wiki. The idea of promulgating opinions to be set forth as the official views of the wiki was ultimately deemed to be ill-conceived; for that reason, and because of reviewspace's being redundant with other namespaces, reviewspace was abolished shortly after its establishment. Although it was briefly resurrected circa 1 December 2012, Reviewspace turned out to be just as unpopular the second time around and was rapidly retired once again.

Alternative venues

Reviews can be posted in essayspace (e.g. Essay:Review of Human Action) or debatespace if the desire is to post an opinion that does not necessarily represent the views of Mises Wiki. If the user desires to maintain editorial control over his review, then he can post it to userspace. Mainspace can also be a place where flaws in books, essays, etc. are pointed out, provided that the community agrees.

Talk pages of the book or essay in question provide another venue for criticism, as long as there is intent through comments posted there to result in changes being made to the page associated with that talk page. E.g., if someone notes that he disagrees with Mises' comments in Human Action on democracy, the criticisms might eventually make their way into the democracy, Human Action, or criticism of Human Action articles. Even if the criticisms are not valid, those might be suitable venues for debunking the criticisms.
